Day 2: Belgrade Full City Tour
Breakfast. Meeting with the guide at 09:30. Sightseeing tour of Belgrade include: City center highlights (Parliament, Republic square, Knez Mihajlo street). Visit St. Sava Church and Belgrade Fortress. Optional lunch break. Panoramic drive: New Belgrade, Ada Lake, Kosutnjak forest and Topcider park. Visit Zemun Old town and Millenary tower. Optional entrance Nikola Tesla Museum or museum of Yugoslavia. Free time in the evening.
Day 3: Belgrade –Danube Iron Gate Tour
Breakfast at hotel. Meeting with the guide at 08am and start driving to the GEOPARK Djerdap Gorge - Iron Gate – through the longest and deepest gorge in Europe. On the beginning of the tour visit Golubac fortress, built in the mid - 14th century, and was many times demolished and rebuilt as a border fortress between Serbia, Hungary and Turkey. Enter to Iron Gate, OPTIONAL boarding on boat. We cruise at the place where the Danube is deepest (90 m) and narrowest (150 m). The cruise continues near the monument of Dacian king Decebal and monastery Mrakonia from Romanian side, then near the place where the Roman Emperor Trajan left a permanent imprint on the rock known as Tabula Traiana. On the way optional visit of prehistoric site Lipinski Vir, one of the first urban settlement in the Europe OR start the hiking tour inside National Park for the sunset at Kovilovo view point (20 minutes one direction). Back to Belgrade in the evening. Overnight.
Day 4: Belgrade- Fruska Gora Park-Novi Sad
After breakfast 10am depart toward Novi Sad, the second largest city in Serbia. On the way visit Fruska Gora mountain and National Park. Stop at Sremski Karlovci, the center of Serbian culture in the 18th century. Visit outside: the first Serbian High School, the Old Patriarch’s Court and theological complex. Visit one of the well-respected wine cellars. We’ll try Bermet wine, the most famous product in the area (wine tasting and honey tasting at beekeeping museum included. Continue and visit Petrovaradin Fortress. Optional lunch. Welcome to European Capitol of Culture for 2022. In Novi Sad will visit its oldest part, Freedom Square, the Zmaj Jovina and Dunavska pedestrian zone, Novi Sad Cathedral. Back to Belgrade.
