Embark on an intimate journey through the landscapes, traditions and communities that have flourished along the Mekong River for generations.

Beginning in Ho Chi Minh City, guests are transferred to My Tho to board Aqua Mekong, an award-winning luxury river vessel accommodating only 40 guests and supported by an attentive 40-member crew.

Travel through the fertile Mekong Delta, visiting traditional mat-weaving communities, bustling riverside markets and agricultural villages. Explore Chau Doc by skiff, learn about local Buddhist practices and cross the international river border from Vietnam into Cambodia.

In Cambodia, discover skilled artisans producing traditional silk textiles on Koh Oknha Tey and visit the secluded riverside community of Preah Prosop. The voyage concludes in Phnom Penh with an introduction to the Cambodian capital’s royal, cultural and historical landmarks.

For these selected departures, the itinerary is listed as Ho Chi Minh City to Siem Reap with an extension. After disembarkation in Phnom Penh, guests receive an included transfer to the airport and a scheduled flight to Siem Reap.

Starting Point

The journey begins in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

Guests meet at Aqua Expeditions’ designated rendezvous point, normally The Reverie Saigon, before travelling by shared coach to My Tho to board Aqua Mekong.

The exact meeting time and luggage instructions will be provided in the final travel documents.

Guests travelling from the UAE should arrive in Ho Chi Minh City at least one day before departure. This provides additional time in case of flight delay, immigration processing or baggage disruption.

End Point

The cruise vessel itself concludes in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

For these two selected departures, Aqua’s booking system lists Siem Reap as an extension. Guests are transferred from the vessel to Phnom Penh International Airport and flown to Siem Reap on a scheduled domestic service.

The operating airline and flight time may change. Accommodation, Angkor touring and onward airport transfers in Siem Reap must be arranged separately unless included in the confirmed package.

Accommodation

Aqua Mekong accommodates a maximum of 40 guests and has 20 spacious river-facing suites.

Eight suites include private balconies, while four pairs of interconnecting suites are available for families or guests requiring additional space.

All meals onboard are included.

Aqua Mekong’s culinary experience was created under the direction of Michelin-starred consulting chef David Thompson and showcases refined interpretations of Vietnamese and Cambodian cuisine.

Menus use regional produce and may feature dishes inspired by local markets, river communities and traditional Southeast Asian flavours.

Selected house wines, beer and non-alcoholic beverages are included. Cocktails, spirits and premium drinks may incur additional charges.

Vegetarian, vegan, kosher, gluten-free, dairy-free and other dietary requirements may be accommodated when advised in advance. Dietary requests should preferably be submitted at least 30 days before departure.

Life onboard is relaxed and casual. Shoes should be worn in the dining room.

Aqua Mekong provides waterproof ponchos, binoculars and a hairdryer in every suite. The suites have 220-volt electrical outlets.

Itinerary

Day 1 – Friday, 4 December 2026 Ho Chi Minh City to My Tho

Meet the Aqua Expeditions team at the designated Ho Chi Minh City rendezvous point and transfer by shared air-conditioned coach to My Tho.

Board Aqua Mekong, settle into your suite and begin sailing through the Mekong Delta.

Day 2 – Saturday, 5 December 2026 Binh Thanh or Sa Dec and My An Hung

Visit the mat-weaving community of Binh Thanh or explore the markets and heritage of Sa Dec.

Continue to My An Hung for a village walk, seasonal fruit tasting and an introduction to traditional local music and culture.

An optional cycling experience may be available.

Day 3 – Sunday, 6 December 2026 Chau Doc, Vinh Xuong and the Vietnam–Cambodia Border

Explore the waterways around Chau Doc by private skiff before discovering local markets, cultural landmarks or countryside experiences.

Return to Aqua Mekong and sail towards the international border, completing formalities before entering Cambodia.

Day 4 – Monday, 7 December 2026 Koh Oknha Tey and Preah Prosop

Learn about Cambodia’s traditional silk weaving on Koh Oknha Tey, with an optional cycling experience subject to the final activity programme.

Later, explore the remote riverside community of Preah Prosop by private skiff.

Day 5 – Tuesday, 8 December 2026 Phnom Penh to Siem Reap

Discover selected landmarks in Phnom Penh before disembarkation.

Transfer to Phnom Penh International Airport and take the included seasonal flight extension to Siem Reap, where the cruise service concludes.

FAQ

  • The two selected departures are scheduled for 27 November–1 December 2026 and 4–8 December 2026.
  • The itinerary, excursions, meeting points, transportation, flight extension and timings may be changed because of water levels, weather, river conditions, border procedures, airline schedules or operational requirements.
  • The Siem Reap extension is a flight transfer after disembarkation in Phnom Penh. It does not mean that Aqua Mekong sails directly to Siem Reap on these departures.
  • Guests are responsible for obtaining valid Vietnam and Cambodia visas, passports and any required health documents.
  • Excursions may involve skiffs, steps, uneven ground, tropical heat, humidity and optional cycling.
  • The minimum recommended age aboard Aqua Mekong is five years.
  • Travellers under 18 may not travel independently. Where a guest under 18 occupies a suite, an adult who meets Aqua’s age requirements must accompany them, except where approved connected-suite arrangements apply.
  • Aqua Expeditions’ current standard policy requires a US$1,000 deposit per guest for bookings confirmed more than 90 days before departure.
  • The final balance is due 90 days before departure.
  • Under Aqua’s current supplier cancellation policy, cancellations 121 days or more before departure are refundable less a US$500 service charge per person. Deposits are non-refundable from 120 to 91 days before departure, and bookings cancelled 90 days or less before departure are subject to a 100% cancellation charge.
  • Atlantis Holidays’ booking, payment and cancellation conditions may also apply.
  • Comprehensive insurance covering cancellation, medical treatment, baggage, delays and repatriation is strongly recommended.
  • Fares are normally quoted per adult based on double occupancy and remain subject to suite availability and confirmation.
