Embark on a rare expedition connecting the secluded outer islands of the Seychelles with the historic shores of Tanzania and Zanzibar.

Beginning in Mahé, the voyage sails south through some of the Indian Ocean’s most remote and ecologically important destinations. Walk across pristine beaches on Rémire, explore coconut forests and coral lagoons around Alphonse and Saint-François, and experience the untouched marine environments of Farquhar and Astove.

Two days are dedicated to the UNESCO-listed Aldabra Atoll and nearby Assumption Island. Aldabra is home to the world’s largest population of giant tortoises, alongside coconut crabs, frigatebirds, sea turtles, sharks, rays and an extraordinary variety of endemic species.

After crossing towards Tanzania, the journey introduces a different side of East Africa. Explore the ancient Swahili ruins of Kilwa Kisiwani, discover Pemba’s green hills and former sultanates, and snorkel among the coral gardens surrounding Misali Island.

The voyage concludes in Zanzibar, an island shaped by centuries of African, Arabian, Indian and European influence.

Throughout the journey, expert naturalist guides lead small-group excursions, island walks, snorkelling, diving, kayaking and wildlife encounters. Embarkation in Mahé

The expedition begins at:

Direct Emirates flights operate between Dubai and Mahé, with an approximate flying time of 4 hours 35 minutes.

L’Escale Marina is approximately 10 minutes by car from Seychelles International Airport under normal traffic conditions.

Guests should arrive in Mahé at least one day before embarkation. This provides protection against flight delays, baggage disruption and immigration processing.

Disembarkation in Zanzibar

The expedition concludes at:

Disembarkation time: 8:30 AM

Zanzibar International Airport is approximately 15–20 minutes by car from the Stone Town and marina area, depending on traffic.

Direct flydubai services operate between Zanzibar and Dubai, with a typical flying time of approximately 5 hours 35 minutes.

Return flights should be booked with sufficient time for disembarkation, luggage collection, the airport transfer and check-in.

Final transfer arrangements should be reconfirmed in the issued travel documents.

Accommodation

Aqua Lares carries a maximum of only 30 guests, supported by 32 crew members.

The yacht has 15 individually designed cabins across five categories.

Day 1 – 28 November 2026 Mahé, Seychelles

Embark Aqua Lares at L’Escale Marina in Mahé.

After settling into your cabin, meet the Cruise Director and naturalist guides who will accompany the expedition. As the yacht departs the main island, enjoy panoramic views from the sun deck and your first destination-inspired dinner onboard.

Day 2 – 29 November 2026 Rémire Island

Discover remote Rémire Island, a small coralline island surrounded by clear tropical waters.

Join the expedition guides for a walk through the coastal vegetation, looking for seabirds, land birds and occasional giant tortoises. The surrounding reef provides opportunities for snorkelling or scuba diving, subject to conditions and qualifications.

Conclude the day with a sundowner on the island’s white-sand shore.

Day 3 – 30 November 2026 Alphonse Island and Saint-François Atoll

Travel by tender to Alphonse Island, where coconut forest, beaches and coral habitats create a classic outer-island landscape.

Explore the island and snorkel along the coast, where hard-coral formations support a wide variety of marine life.

Later, continue to Saint-François Atoll. Its mangroves, lagoons and barrier reefs provide opportunities to look for juvenile sharks, crabs, crab plovers and tropical fish.

Day 4 – 1 December 2026 Farquhar Atoll

Explore Farquhar, one of the Seychelles’ most remote outer atolls.

Its turquoise lagoons, coral reefs and islands provide habitat for abundant marine life and seabirds, including red-footed boobies.

Depending on the conditions and final expedition programme, activities may include snorkelling, diving, kayaking or fly-fishing.

Day 5 – 2 December 2026 Astove Island

Arrive at Astove, renowned for the spectacular Astove Wall.

Often described as an underwater Grand Canyon, the wall descends dramatically beneath the surface and is covered in soft coral. Its waters are visited by rays, sharks, reef fish and green turtles.

Snorkelling and diving activities may be available depending on sea conditions, visibility and guest qualifications.

Day 6 – 3 December 2026 Aldabra Atoll

Begin exploring Aldabra, one of the world’s largest raised coral atolls and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

More than 100,000 giant tortoises inhabit the atoll, forming the largest population of these animals anywhere on Earth.

Its lagoon, mangroves, reefs and coastal habitats also support tropical fish, sharks, rays, sea turtles, rare birds and endemic plant life.

Activities may include guided shore walks, wildlife observation, tender exploration and water-based excursions.

Day 7 – 4 December 2026 Aldabra Atoll and Assumption Island

Continue discovering Aldabra’s beaches, lagoon channels, mangrove forests and wildlife.

Walks may reveal coconut crabs, frigatebirds and giant tortoises, while the surrounding waters provide further opportunities for snorkelling and diving.

The expedition may also explore nearby Assumption Island, subject to local permissions, weather and operating conditions.

Day 8 – 5 December 2026 At Sea

Spend a relaxing day crossing the Indian Ocean towards Tanzania.

Enjoy the onboard spa and jacuzzi, attend presentations by the naturalist guides or spend time on the sun deck watching for seabirds.

The sea day also provides an opportunity to enjoy Aqua Lares’ cuisine, lounges, cinema and wellness facilities.

Day 9 – 6 December 2026 Kilwa Kisiwani, Tanzania

Step ashore at Kilwa Kisiwani, once one of the most important trading centres on the Swahili Coast.

Explore the remains of a settlement shaped by centuries of trade between Africa, Arabia, Persia and India. Important landmarks include the Great Mosque and the Palace of Husuni Kubwa.

The surrounding coastline also contains mangrove forests and wildlife-rich marine habitats.

Day 10 – 7 December 2026 Pemba Island

Discover Pemba, an island known for its green hills, clove plantations, cultural heritage and exceptional diving.

The island contains traces of former sultanates and settlements now surrounded by dense tropical vegetation.

Depending on the final programme, experiences may include cultural exploration, nature walks, snorkelling or diving.

Day 11 – 8 December 2026 Misali Island

Visit Misali Island, situated off the western coast of Pemba.

The island’s forest provides habitat for vervet monkeys, while its white-sand beaches and surrounding reefs offer excellent snorkelling.

Explore coral gardens filled with tropical fish or relax along the island’s peaceful shoreline before returning to Aqua Lares for the final evening onboard.

Day 12 – 9 December 2026 Zanzibar, Tanzania

Enjoy breakfast onboard as Aqua Lares approaches Zanzibar.

Disembark at Azam Marina in the morning, bringing the expedition to a close after 11 nights exploring the coralline islands of the Seychelles and Tanzania’s historic Swahili coast.

  • The selected sailing operates from 28 November to 9 December 2026 aboard Aqua Lares.
  • The fare displayed is from US$20,390 per adult and remains subject to cabin category, availability and confirmation.
  • The Early Bird Bonus applies only to selected Aqua Lares cabins, currently cabins 401 and 206.
  • The published Early Bird offer provides 20% savings on eligible cabins for qualifying 2026–2028 departures.
  • Early Bird bookings must currently be made by 30 September 2026.
